Iranian-American Partnership for Medical Science and
Public Health Association (IAPA) - Geneva
A Swiss non-political, non-profit organization domiciled in Geneva, IAPA was established in 2015 with the cooperation of Iranian and Swiss individuals and institutions involved in the areas of medical science, public health and health diplomacy.
In 2013, Iranians and Americans interested in building upon the positive experiences of the Iran/Mississippi Delta project began to explore options how to expand opportunities for productive engagement in the field of medical science and public health. Of special interest were projects in the areas of critical care, trauma care, hospice care, and mental health services, medical education, and training programs.
IAPA Objectives include:
- Providing support for UN Millennium Development Goals to reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, and combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases in Iran and the Mississippi Delta;
- Expanding medical education and training programs for medical students, physicians, nurses, midwives and lay public; and,
- Promoting conferences in the areas of critical care, trauma care, hospice care, and mental health services.
